Text-based PDF · 20 MiB / 50 pages · read locally. Scans need OCR PDF first.
No year is assumed. Check cross-year terms manually.

Finding candidates again replaces the current review. Changes to the source or date settings do not change existing reviewed events.

Review and confirm

Compare every event with your syllabus. Confirming means you checked the title, date and time. Blank times export as all-day events; entered times use your calendar’s local time zone.

No events yet.

How to use Syllabus to Calendar

Paste a syllabus or read a text-based PDF on this device. Review each candidate, correct dates and times, and confirm the events you want in your calendar.

  1. Paste text or choose a text-based syllabus PDF.
  2. Set date order and a year if needed, then find candidate events.
  3. Edit each event from the source and check its confirmation box.
  4. Download the confirmed events as .ics and review them in your calendar.

How it’s calculated

PDF input reuses Pevlika’s local PDF.js conversion engine and positioned-text line grouping. Files are limited to 20 MiB and 50 pages, pasted text to 200,000 characters, and the review to 200 candidates. No file or syllabus text is uploaded.

English month names, ISO dates and numeric dates are recognized. Two-digit years, multiple dates, relative deadlines, recurrence and unsupported formats require manual review. There is no inference from the current date, weekdays, term names or neighboring rows. Check multi-column PDF reading order against the original.

ICS export follows RFC 5545, escapes text and folds UTF-8 lines. A blank time creates an all-day event with an exclusive next-day end. An entered time creates a point event in the importing calendar’s local time zone; check that zone before importing. No reminder or repeating event is added.

About Syllabus to Calendar

Syllabus schedules can mix explicit dates, missing years and phrases such as “week 3” or “TBA”. This tool finds date-bearing lines and assignment, exam or deadline keywords using local rules. It provides candidates for review, not a complete or authoritative interpretation of a course schedule.

You choose a numeric date order and, optionally, a term year for dates that omit it. Missing or conflicting dates stay unresolved until you correct them. Each event needs an explicit confirmation before export. The source excerpt remains visible beside the editable title, date and optional local time.

Questions

Will it invent a date for “week 3” or “TBA”?

No. It leaves the date blank and asks you to enter a confirmed date. Ambiguous numeric dates also stay blank until you choose an order or correct them.

Does it read scanned or handwritten PDFs?

This app extracts an existing PDF text layer. Scanned pages need OCR first; use the existing OCR PDF app and paste the reviewed text here. Rotated text and complex tables can be incomplete.

What happens to times and unresolved events?

Source times are flagged for review. Enter a time manually or explicitly confirm an all-day event. Only confirmed valid events are included; the page shows how many are excluded. Dates spanning a year boundary must be reviewed individually.

Is my syllabus saved?

No. It stays in memory in this tab. Download the calendar before closing, and keep your original syllabus for reference.
