Read a written word, phrase or sentence and choose the picture it describes. The text is never read aloud first; a wrong choice says what that picture shows. Preschoolers read picture words and color words such as “red star”. Ages 7–9 read number words and sentences like “two red hearts and one blue star”, where every distractor changes one word.
