How to use QR File Transfer
Add files or tap Receive. A QR code appears; scan it with the other device to see the files, download them and send files back, directly between the two devices.
- Add the files you want to share, or tap Receive files to collect files from another device.
- A QR code appears at the top. Scan it with the camera of the other device; it connects without any further taps.
- The other device sees your files at once and downloads each one with a tap. It can also send its own files, which appear immediately on your list.
- Keep both pages open until the transfers finish. Tap Stop sharing when you are done.
Questions
Are my files uploaded to Pevlika?
No. Pevlika only helps the two browsers find each other. The file list and the file bytes travel directly between the devices over an encrypted WebRTC connection.
Does the other device need an app or an account?
No. Any current browser with a camera app that opens QR links works. Scanning opens this page and connects automatically.
How long does the QR code work?
As long as this page stays open and in the room. If you switch apps on your phone and come back, the connection resumes on its own.
Can several devices scan the same code?
Yes. Every device that scans sees your shared files and can send files to you.
Why does a connection sometimes fail?
Direct connections need both networks to allow peer-to-peer traffic. Same Wi-Fi works best. Some company, school or mobile networks block it, and no relay server is used.
How big can files be?
Received files stream into private browser storage and are checked with SHA-256 before they are saved. Browsers without writable private storage accept files up to 16 MiB. Available device storage applies.
Where do received files go?
Downloads you request are saved to your device automatically. Copies stay in this browser’s private storage until you remove them.
