Questions
Which barcode type should I use?
Code 128 is the most flexible for any text or numbers (shipping, inventory). EAN-13 (worldwide) and UPC-A (North America) are for retail products — you need a registered number from GS1 to sell in stores.
Do you add the check digit?
Yes. Enter 12 digits for EAN-13 or 11 for UPC-A and the check digit is added automatically. If you enter it yourself, it is validated.
