Questions
Is it safe to paste a 2FA secret here?
Codes are computed in your browser with the Web Crypto API. The secret is never sent to our server, saved, logged or included in analytics, and the page keeps working offline once loaded. Even so, a 2FA secret protects a real account — only paste secrets you own, ideally test ones, and never on a shared computer.
Why doesn’t my code match?
TOTP depends on the clock: make sure your device time is set automatically. Also check the algorithm, number of digits and period — most services use SHA-1, 6 digits and 30 seconds.
What is an otpauth:// link?
The format authenticator apps read from QR codes. It contains the secret, the account name and issuer, and optional settings such as the algorithm and digits.
