How to use 101 Okey

  1. Choose Computer to play three local opponents, or create an online room for four players.
  2. Draw from the middle or take your left player’s discard, then stage melds and lay them when they total 101, or five pairs.
  3. After opening, tap a table meld to lay off a selected tile; discard to end your turn and go out by emptying your rack.

Questions

Which 101 Okey rules are used?

101 Okey for four players with the 106-tile set. Each player gets 21 tiles and the dealer’s right gets 22 and starts by discarding. The indicator and okey work as in Okey: okeys are wild, a false okey stands for the okey tile, and runs do not wrap from 13 to 1. Open by laying melds worth at least 101 in one turn (sets of one number in 3–4 colours, or ascending runs of one colour; okeys count as the tile they replace) or by laying at least five identical pairs. After opening you may lay new melds (pair openers: only pairs) and lay tiles off onto any meld on the table. A discard you take must be used in that turn’s melds; otherwise it goes back and you draw from the middle. Discarding a tile that extends a table meld costs 101. Going out scores −101; everyone else adds the values of their remaining tiles, or 202 if they never opened; finishing with an okey doubles those penalties, and pair openers’ penalties are doubled. If the middle runs out, remaining tiles count without a winner. Five hands make a game and the lowest total wins.

How are online racks kept private?

Each browser adds its own encryption layer to the tile shuffle and only a tile’s holder removes the last layer, so neither the other players nor the server see your rack or the middle stack. Laid melds, lay-offs and discards are revealed with decryption proofs and checked by every player. After each hand all keys are revealed and every browser replays the original rules before scores count. This is not an independently audited zero-knowledge shuffle; a player who withholds a key stops the hand without a result.

How strong is the computer?

The computer players use simple local heuristics: they open when their best melds reach 101, lay off what fits and discard their highest loose tile. They are practice opponents.

Which player modes are available?

Choose Computer or Online Multiplayer. Online rooms support invitation codes, public discovery and peer chat. Invite opens a short connection window; reopen it for new arrivals or a reloaded tab. Restricted networks may not connect without a relay.
