How to use DICOM Viewer

- Choose a series/thumbnail and scroll slices; pan, zoom or adjust window/level.
- Inspect local metadata or measure a two-point length. Not for diagnostic use.
Questions
Which images work?
Uncompressed implicit/explicit little-endian, 8/16-bit MONOCHROME1/2 Part 10 files, including basic multiframe data. JPEG/JPEG-LS/JPEG2000/RLE/deflated transfer syntaxes, color, advanced LUTs, enhanced per-frame geometry and non-image DICOM are unsupported. This is not a diagnostic workstation.
How are large series handled?
Metadata is scanned in a worker. ZIP entries are bounded and processed one at a time; only needed frames are decoded. The decoded-image LRU cache is capped at 64 MB. Limits: 250 MB source, 512 MB declared/actual expanded ZIP, 64 MB image, 1024 files / 4096 frames, 4096×4096 pixels and a 4 MB metadata prefix. Large series can still exceed a mobile browser’s resources.
Does patient information leave the browser?
No. Scans, patient fields, metadata, filenames and measurements stay local. No viewer payload is sent to analytics, server logging or another service, and scans are not saved for crash recovery.
Are measurements diagnostic?
No. Two-point lengths use supplied pixel spacing and patient orientation where available; otherwise they are labeled pixels. Advanced multiframe geometry and angle measurement are not supported. Not for diagnostic use.
