How to use FPS Test

  1. Keep the tab visible and other heavy apps closed.
  2. Raise the number of objects step by step.
  3. Watch the average FPS, the 1% low and dropped frames; spikes in the graph are stutters.

Questions

What is a good result?

Ideally the FPS matches your refresh rate (for example 60 or 144) with a 1% low close to it. A low 1% value means occasional stutters even if the average looks fine.

Why is my FPS capped at 60?

Browsers never draw faster than the display refreshes. Use the refresh rate test to see what your screen supports.

Does this test my graphics card?

Partly — it measures how quickly the browser can draw a 2D canvas, which uses the GPU when hardware acceleration is on. It is not a full gaming benchmark.
