How to use Refresh Rate Test

Questions

Why does it say 60 Hz on my 144 Hz monitor?

The display may be set to 60 Hz in your system settings, the cable or port may not support the higher rate, or a power-saving mode may be limiting it. Check the display settings first.

Does variable refresh rate (G-Sync/FreeSync) change the result?

VRR follows the frame rate of games; in a browser you normally see the display’s maximum. On laptops and phones, battery saving can lower it.

How is this different from the FPS test?
