What is EXIF data?

Information cameras and phones save inside photos: device model, lens, exposure settings, date and time, and often the exact GPS location where the photo was taken.

Why don’t I see any EXIF data?

Screenshots, edited images and photos from messaging apps and social networks usually have their metadata removed. PNG and WebP files rarely contain it.
