Starts at a conservative level. Keep device volume low and avoid prolonged high-volume listening. Generated sounds are approximate, not calibrated.

How to use White Noise Generator

  1. Choose a noise color and a comfortable low volume.
  2. Press Start; adjust volume or set a timer (0 means no timer).
  3. Stop any time. The timer fades audio during its last 15 seconds.

Questions

Does this stream or record audio?

No. A self-hosted AudioWorklet generates samples locally. No audio files, microphone access, streaming service or uploads are used.

Are these calibrated noise signals?

No. White uses independent random samples; pink uses an octave low-pass mixture and brown uses leaky integration. These are approximate listening sounds, not calibrated acoustic measurement signals.

How loud should I listen?

Start quietly and avoid prolonged high-volume listening, especially with headphones. Device volume also affects loudness. Browser suspension or a sleeping device can interrupt playback or timer updates.
