How to use EPUB Reader

  1. Open an unencrypted EPUB, up to 50 MB.
  2. Navigate contents/chapters; adjust font, theme and reading width.
  3. Bookmark chapters. Reopen the same book to restore the locally saved position.

Questions

Are books or filenames uploaded?

No. The ZIP, package, chapters and images are read locally. Embedded scripts, CSS, fonts and external resources are blocked.

How are bookmarks saved?

Chapter/scroll position, bookmarks and preferences use the existing local IndexedDB state manager, keyed by a SHA-256 digest. The book itself is not saved; reopen it after refresh. State expires after 24 hours of inactivity and can be lost if browser storage is cleared.

Which EPUB features work?

Reflowable EPUB 2/3 with OPF spine and EPUB 3 navigation or NCX contents. DRM, fixed-layout fidelity, publisher CSS/fonts, audio/video and interactive content are unsupported. Raster images are bounded; SVG images are omitted.
