Questions
Why is the result lower than my mouse’s setting?
Move faster and keep moving — a mouse only reports when it moves. Some browsers also cap pointer events; Chrome and Edge give the most accurate numbers.
Is a higher polling rate better?
Higher rates (1000 Hz+) reduce input delay slightly and make movement smoother on high-refresh screens, at the cost of a little CPU time.
Does it work for touchpads?
Yes, though touchpads usually report at around the screen’s refresh rate.
