Answer
Step by step
How to use Math Solver
Type a problem — an equation, inequality, expression, “d/dx …” or “integrate …” — and get the exact answer with the steps.
- Type or paste a problem, or tap an example.
- The solver detects the type: equation, system, inequality, simplification, factoring, derivative or integral.
- Read the exact answer and the steps, then open it in the Graphing Calculator.
Questions
What kinds of problems can it solve?
Linear, quadratic and polynomial equations (exactly when roots are rational or quadratic), systems of linear equations, inequalities, rational expressions, factoring, derivatives and many integrals. Other equations are solved numerically and marked with ≈.
How do I ask for a derivative or integral?
Start with “d/dx”, “derivative of”, “integrate” or “∫”, for example “d/dx x^2 sin(x)” or “integrate x e^x from 0 to 1”.
Are the answers checked?
Exact algebra uses fractions, not decimals. Every antiderivative is checked by differentiating it before it is shown; anything the solver cannot do exactly is labelled as numeric.
How should I type math?
Type powers with ^ (x^2) or x², multiplication with * or by writing 2x, and functions such as sqrt(x), sin(x), ln(x) and e^x. Answers are calculated exactly with fractions and radicals when possible.
