What is BMR?

Basal metabolic rate is the energy needed to keep your body running at rest — breathing, circulation, temperature. It is usually 60–70% of the calories you burn in a day. Activity is added on top to get your TDEE.

Men: 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × age + 5
Women: 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × age − 161
